The Pawfect Vacation Checklist For Your Pet Sitter

Because pet's deserve a great vacation, too.

Your pet’s well-being is priority #1 while you’re away. Once you’ve hired a trusty pet sitter, make sure they have everything they need to keep your companion safe, happy, and stress-free. With everything covered, you can finally relax and enjoy your much-needed R&R.

Take a look at our pet sitter checklist below. A little prep goes a long way!

Share Their Pet Profile

Make sure to provide a sheet with all of your pet’s important information! This includes: name, breed, age, quirks, fears, favorite toys, unusual habits, and what their daily routine is such as walks, pets, playtime, and preferred activities.

Plan Their Daily Menu

Provide feeding instructions for their food including what to use, how much, and when (plus how to prep if needed). Leave extra food stocked and share any special dietary needs such as allergies or sensitivities. Don't forget to include the rules for treats so your sitter knows what is allowed and when to give it. Keep their bellies full and safe while you're away!

Prep for Health and Safety

Provide their medications with clear dosage information, times, and how to give it. Leave the vet’s information with their name, address, and emergency options and always make sure your pet has an updated ID tag with your latest address and contact information in case they wander off while missing you.

Make Their Space Cozy and Clean

Leave a clean litter box along with instructions on how often to clean it and what tools to use. Set out cleaning supplies in case of accidents and make sure their leash or harness is easy to find. Don’t forget to keep their comfort items easily accessible including beds, blankets, and toys that smell like you.

Finally, be sure to leave your preferred way to stay in touch, whether that’s texts, daily check-ins, or the occasional cute pic. A little thank you note or gift is always a nice touch, too. And remember to share your return date, because no matter how long you’re gone, your pet will be so ready to welcome you home!
